The 2019 Tour - Yorkshire Coast
And so - the Wild Drivers slipped into Yorkshire for a week of fun and the craic, in May. The hotel, the Palm Court in Scarborough was superb, and Cafe Fish, a quality restaurant, was the business. Dan celebrated his birthday during the week, and he picked up £90 on a lotto ticket, sadly having agreed beforehand to split any winnings with Paul & Greg. As usual, the boys almost drank Scarborough dry of Guinness, but the Hole in the Wall did manage to keep us well oiled each evening, during the darts matches. And who turned up in the Hole one evening, just out of the blue? A Bootle youth club man that several of us knew - Donny Rivers. He was on a Scarborough weekend with his London lassie! What a surprise to see him! Well, the golf was great, with Phil the Bat taking the green jacket back to Merseyside for another year, The Waistcoat was worn by Paul, Simon, Phil and John. The Silver Salver was won by Biggles? Mick the teeth joined us again, and as he is slipping into retirement, we're sure his handicap will be near single figures next year. 742 pints of Guinness slipped down, 12 pints of lager, 57 double Jamesons and one bottle of water. A great week, and - next year is the 20th anniversary of the Wild Drivers. Ireland is looking very likely!
